Misc Pictures and Information

My dad's summary of the trip, his summary of differences are pretty entertaining.

SPAIN TRIP (June 26 to July 3, 2011).

Itinerary:
Craig and I took flight from Philadelphia to Madrid and then on plane for Ibiza to meet Phil flying in from Palma.  In Ibiza from Sun to Tues.  Then we all took flight from Ibiza to Palma de Mallorca.  Stayed in Palma for 3 days (Tues night, Wed, Thurs, Fri a.m.)  Then flew to Barcelona for 2 days (Fri afternoon and Sat).  Then fly from Barcelona to Madrid (early Sun) to get plane home to Philadelphia. (Sun)

Things different below:
·         Mostly smaller cars and small motorcycles
·         Trash is segregated by type at street level and then organized underground in cities
·         Partial shower doors in hotels, some have none, water gets everywhere
·         There is no tipping other than maybe keeping the change
·         Topless allowed on beaches
·         No salad dressing, only oils
·         Tapas are appetizers,
·         Serve lunch meats with breakfast
·         Bike paths in city along side roads
·         Lot of interracial couples
·         Lot of body piercing and tattoos
·         Lot of Germans visit Spain
·         Paellas were good - Spanish rice, peppers, peas,  chicken or shrimp, etc
·         Public transportation (metro) does not take credit cards, only cash and debit cards with pin #
·         No benches in parks
·         People are generally shorter
·         Pigeons are hog tied - haha
·         Euros exchange rate was About $1.55 example:  $100 got us between $62 & $65

Here are some blog titles that didn't make it:

  • Call me dr.phil because everyone tells me their problems or dirty little secrets.
  • Check yourself before you wreck yourself
  • Sometimes it’s just me and all my bottles all alone
  • Gelato you have proved ever further that I am lactose intolerant.
